Job description
Premier Fishing based at V&A Waterfront Cape Town requires the services of a suitably qualified and experienced individual to provide the functions of a Cashbook Accountant in the Finance department.Responsibilities:
- Landings jobs for squid vessels.
- Process invoice – Admin fee for Sea Cat.
- Process management fees for companies.
- Cashbook (capture & reconcile) - BIDVEST RAND, BIDVEST EURO, BIDVEST USD, TRUST LINK & TRANSACTIONAL CAPITAL
- Payments (local & foreign) creditors payments
- System in stock take mode.
- Capture stock and accept
- Create new Capex form for Squid.
- Capitalised capex jobs for Pelagic, Squid, H/O, WCRL &SCRL)
- Depreciation month end closure.
- Seacat export invoice and recons.
- Loading of stock for Seacat and other companies.
- Process of confirming daily inward foreign payments as per bank notification.
- Manage and control all clients’ correspondence with respect to service delivery.
- Process levies and journal.
- Process monthly SABS levy provision.
- Process interim & year-end diesel onboard.
- Process monthly fuel rebate per usage Liters.
- Process monthly provident fund journal.
- Process mooring levies journal.
- Prepare expense journal.
- Petty cash entries and recon.
- Capex recon.
- Filling.
Requirements:
- Accounting qualification
- Computer literate and knowledge of relevant software, SYSPRO.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping
- Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management
- Strong planning, organizational and communication skills: verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently but also works in a team environment as required.
