Role Overview
The Partnership Manager is the operational engine driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, retail activation, and brand amplification. Working directly with the Founder and cross-functional teams, you'll build and manage sales pipelines while executing marketing initiatives that convert to commercial outcomes.
This is a revenue-focused role that sits at the intersection of sales and marketing. You'll identify opportunities, secure partnerships, activate retail channels, and coordinate brand campaigns, all with a laser focus on driving growth and commercial performance. Initially focused on establishing dominance in South Africa while identifying international expansion opportunities.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Pipeline and Partnership Development (40%)
Lead Generation and Conversion
- Research and identify high-value B2B leads (retailers, distributors, hospitality, partnerships) across SA markets and select international opportunities
- Find and validate key decision-makers and contact details
- Initiate outreach via email, LinkedIn, and other channels to secure discovery calls and meetings
- Qualify leads and build robust sales pipeline focused on revenue potential
- Schedule and coordinate meetings for sales team and founder
- Maintain and update CRM with lead intelligence and sales activity
Partnership Management and Revenue Growth
- Serve as primary point of contact for distributors, retail partners, and commercial collaborators
- Negotiate and finalize partnership terms, costings, and commercial agreements
- Drive partner performance through training, support, and relationship management
- Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within existing partnerships
- Track partnership revenue contribution and ROI
- Coordinate distributor onboarding and ongoing commercial support
Sales Support and Enablement
- Prepare sales decks, presentations, samples, and materials for outbound sales and distributor pitches
- Collaborate with marketing to align sales messaging and materials
- Support creation of sales enablement toolkits that drive conversion
- Develop Partner Communication Strategy to ensure seamless information flow
- Facilitate knowledge sharing between markets to replicate success
Channel Execution and Revenue Optimization
- Develop and manage trade marketing calendars by market and channel (offline retail, e-commerce, distributors)
- Coordinate production and distribution of POS materials, product education tools, and visual merchandising
- Execute retail launch plans for new products, promotions, and campaigns designed to drive sell-through
- Monitor retail execution through store checks, photo audits, and field feedback
- Serve as bridge between marketing and retail/distributor partners for seamless asset delivery
- Analyse trade marketing performance, promotion ROI, and campaign effectiveness to optimize spend
Brand Partnership Activation
- Activate and manage brand partnerships and collaborations with strong commercial focus
- Coordinate joint campaigns, co-branded content, and partner events that drive revenue
- Execute partnership logistics including sourcing, production, and activation delivery
- Manage costings and execution of brand collaborations, ensuring pricing is finalized and profitability maintained
Campaign Management
- Execute integrated brand campaigns across digital, retail, social, and PR channels with clear commercial KPIs
- Coordinate creative production including photoshoots, videos, packaging, and marketing materials
- Manage product launch strategies end-to-end from positioning through amplification
- Partner with internal teams on digital campaigns, social execution, and CRM initiatives
- Create and manage content calendars aligned with sales objectives
Platform and Digital Management
- Manage Shopify platform updates, product listings, and e-commerce marketing initiatives
- Create email campaigns, automation flows, and blog content that drive conversion
- Maintain brand consistency across web, email, and social platforms
- Coordinate influencer partnerships, seeding programs, and content collaborations
In-House Production and Supplier Management
- Coordinate in-house production needs including samples, packaging, and marketing materials
- Manage supplier relationships for production, printing, and fulfilment
- Source and procure materials for campaigns, events, and activations
- Oversee quality control and timely delivery
Sales and Marketing Analytics
- Track and analyse sales metrics across markets, channels, and partnerships
- Compile regular dashboards on pipeline health, partnership performance, and campaign ROI
- Gather market insights from distributors on trends, challenges, and opportunities
- Monitor competitive activity and recommend strategic adjustments
- Provide founder with actionable intelligence for decision-making

Requirements
Experience and Background
- 3–5 years experience in sales coordination, partnership management, trade marketing, or business development (wellness, lifestyle, FMCG, beauty, or consumer goods sectors preferred)
- Proven track record of lead generation, pipeline management, and closing partnerships
- Experience working across both digital and physical retail channels
- Experience coordinating with distributors, retail partners, or B2B clients
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple commercial projects simultaneously
- Commercial acumen – understands what drives revenue and can prioritize accordingly
- Exceptional relationship management – natural connector who builds trust and drives partnerships forward
- Strong organisational and project management – manages numerous moving parts without dropping balls
- Data-driven mindset – comfortable using analytics to inform decisions and optimize performance
- Excellent communication across all levels – from founder to retail staff to external partners
- Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
- Experience with project management tools and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
- Understanding of LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools
- Knowledge of Shopify, email marketing platforms, and e-commerce operations
