The panel, chaired by UK wine writer, critic and judge, Robert Joseph involved three other notable and widely published wine writers. They were Australian James Halliday, also a winegrower and winemaker; Bob Campbell MW from New Zealand; and South Africa's Michael Fridjhon.
It already has several top awards, including a Veritas double gold medal won at the 2007 SA National Wine Show; gold and best-in-class rating at the 2008 International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC); as well as gold at the 2009 Michelangelo International Wine Awards.
The 2009 Winemaster's Reserve Noble Late Harvest retails for R60 a 375ml bottle ex-cellar. The auction wine sold at R1900 for 6 bottles.
