South African for international IABC judging panel

Daniel Munslow, executive strategist at Newsclip, has been invited to join the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Blue Ribbon Panel to perform final-tier judging for this year's Gold Quill Awards. The panel convenes at IABC headquarters IABC in San Francisco, 20 - 21 March 2009.

Munslow describes the opportunity as one that will ensure new insights are gained and new relationships are developed with top communicators around the world. “It is also encouraging to see the high standard of communications in Africa, with several communication practitioners and large corporates having already proved their success by bringing back various Gold Quill Awards,” he says.

“This is an event where global best of practice converges and affords judges the opportunity to identify new trends”.

For more than 35 years, the Gold Quill Awards programme has rigorously tested and rewarded the work of business communicators in all aspects of their work—from writing and design, to strategic communication planning. The annual awards solicit the best work from more than 16 000 communicators around the world, whose efforts are furthering their organisations' goals and directly contributing to their business success.

Newsclip sponsorship affords Munslow the opportunity to attend the judging in San Francisco and report back on global entries.

Simon Dabbs, Newsclip MD, says, “It is a privilege to be selected to form part of this prestigious panel, and it is my belief that a lot can be learned from assessing and evaluating the world's best communication strategies.

"Above all, it gives South Africa yet another voice on the international scene and an opportunity to be part of a global decision-making process.”
