Sanef creates coronavirus fact-checking page
The South African National Editors Forum (Sanef) has created a special web page focusing on the novel coronavirus with the aim of providing updates and fact-checking information circulating online about the virus.
The page fact checks viral WhatsApp messages, Facebook posts, tweets and news articles to promote sharing of accurate information. The fact-checks are grouped into six categories which include hoaxes, cures and prevention, and manipulated or out of context videos and images.
