More bobbies on bikes
94.7 Highveld Stereo and Pick n'Pay presented the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (J.M.P.D.) with a further thirty bicycles at the end of the Pick 'n Pay 94.7 Cycle Challenge held on Sunday. Recently twenty bikes were handed over to the J.M.P.D. who established a bicycle unit for the World Summit on Sustainable Development. The Department will be using them to patrol routes and parking grounds around stadia during soccer, rugby and cricket matches. They will also be used for crime prevention activities in the CBD and to patrol various shopping Malls throughout Johannesburg.
