Call to entries for Roger Garlick Award 2007

The Advertising Media Association of South Africa (AMASA) is calling on media experts to enter pioneering campaigns with unique use of media into the 2007 Roger Garlick Award. The closing date is 23 February 2007 and winners will be announced at the AdFocus Awards, hosted by Jeremy Maggs.

Courtesy of sponsor, Oracle Airtime Sales and AMASA, the overall Roger Garlick Award winner will walk away with R20 000 cash in hand, and be profiled in the annual AdFocus manual. "We realise that cash is king and look forward to raising the bar and really rewarding this year's RGA winner," says Brad Aigner, AMASA Deputy Chairman and head of the Roger Garlick Portfolio.

"AMASA Gold Awards will again be awarded to those exceptional entries deemed to stand out from the rest. While each category offers the opportunity to win an AMASA Gold Award, there will not necessarily be an award presented in each media category," adds AMASA chairman Rob Smuts.

According to Aigner, the judging panel will be announced early in 2007. "In the meantime, we are asking media agencies and marketers to start planning their entries," he says.

At least two original, as well as eight duplicate copies of entry forms and motivations, must be submitted with each entry. Only two copies of supporting material are required. Supporting material includes: DVDs, CDs, slides, audiotapes, tearsheets or photographs.

The cost of entry is R550.00 (inclusive of VAT). Entries and entry fees should be delivered to Owlhurst Communications: 12 River Road, Rivonia, Johannesburg.
