On the cards will be Magic The Gathering nationals and game workshop regionals, computer gaming from Mayhem and the traditional role-playing and board-gaming events. The themed-event concept continues this year with Arabian Nights, with the usual costume competition and “cos-play” events

Claimed to be the largest event of its kind in southern Africa for consumers, game distributors and comic retailers, ICON generally attracts more than 3000 visitors each year. It is run by Grant Charlton of comic book and gaming shop Outer Limits, along with a team of volunteers.

ICON will take place 10 - 12 July 2009 at the Jabula Recreation Centre in Sandringham, Johannesburg. For more information and the ICON brochure, go to www.rpg.co.za.
