SAACI national chairperson, Nina Freysen-Pretorius, said Pringle's resignation is a great loss to the association. "Over the past two-and-a-half years her hard work and extensive industry experience have helped establish a solid head office structure and taken the association to a new level of professionalism.

"We wish her all the best in her new life but trust that her skills and knowledge will not be lost to SAACI and the industry as a whole. We were privileged to have had her on board."

    Smooth transition

Among other things, Pringle will still be responsible for crucial aspects of the SAACI national congress over the next few months, including the arranging of speakers.

"Being the GM was the highlight of my career," says Pringle. "I thank the board, my colleagues and every member I worked or interacted with during my time at the association."

SAACI has reassured its members, stakeholders and the business tourism industry that the transition will be a smooth one. The general manager position will be advertised soon.
