The event not only offers an afternoon of fantastic entertainment in a lush garden setting, but also raises money for an important cause. Once again, Cape Town's finest jazz musicians will be donating their musical talents to help raise money for the Health and Wellness Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Mitchell's Plain.
Melanie Scholtz will be joining Amanda Tiffin's LittleBIGband in some jazz classics and a song or two from her own albums. Scholtz's CDs will also be on sale at the concert.
Also featuring will be vocalist Cedric Vandenschrik, who will add international flavour to the concert, with songs in Italian and French.
Amanda Tiffin will, of course, be leading her swingin' littleBIGband in some jazz classics. Joining her on stage will be guitarist Dave Ledbetter, trumpeter Darren English, and saxophonist Dan Shout. Completing the group will be Shaun Johannes on bass and Kevin Gibson on drums.
The afternoon will also feature the vocal ensemble, The UCT Jazz Voices, and a showcase of the best of the UCT Jazz Vocal students. Smooth Jazz outfit, 4midable will open proceedings with their special blend of jazz and funk grooves.
