BEE PR for IT sector

PR company HMC Seswa Corporate Communications has become the first black-owned company in its sector. The industry's black empowerment charter was only recently finalised and awaits final government approval.

Company founder Howard Mellet says: "We have been watching our own industry, as well as the IT and ICT industry, come to terms with change and deliberating the future. We decided that a bold approach was necessary and we were fortunate to be in contact with Mazole, who had similar aspirations."

Black-owned Mazole Holdings, the company shareholders, funded the acquisition, effective from 1 August 2005

Mazole Holdings and Primedia Broadcasting executive chairperson Dan Moyane comments: "HMC Seswa has a 23 year track record of excellence in its sector. Its line up of clients is formidable and the area of expertise unmatched in our market. This is the first of several planned acquisitions and start-ups for Mazole, and our strongest possible starting point."
