Qualification and skills
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Deadline driven.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to follow instruction.
- Highly motivated individual with strong self-management skills.
- High level of trustworthiness and ethical conduct.
- The daily physical demands are those required of an electrical assistant.
- The candidate must be physically fit.
- The person will be required to travel to sites.
- The work environment characteristics are those encountered in a typical environment.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Dig holes and trenches, plant poles and lay cables in trenches.
- Chase and cut walls and concrete floors for conduit.
- Strip redundant installations and equipment incidental thereto from which the supply cables have been removed.
- Clean office and worship areas.
- Prepare refreshments.
- Install and fix flush and surface mounted wire ways and ancillary equipment thereto.
- Install cables including the fitting of glands, making off and securing such cables, but excluding the connection thereof.
- Being able to do trenching/digging for cable installation.
